Web Browser Plugin

The Web Browser Plugin integrates a full-featured web browser directly into HippoRemote.

Now, you may be asking, "Why do I need a web browser in HippoRemote when my iPhone/iPod already has Safari?"

Our built-in Browser Plugin offers two key advantages:

1. No need to switch apps
   Since the iPhone doesn't allow apps to run in the background, it's annoying and inefficient to leave HippoRemote, launch Safari, load your web page, quit Safari, relaunch HippoRemote, and reconnect.


2. Link Launching
   How many times while reading a web page on your iPhone have you wished you could send the link to your computer and open it on a bigger screen? The Browser Plugin lets you do exactly that, so you can seamlessly move from small to big screen as desired.

Hippo Pro Setup

We've pre-programmed the Browser Plugin to the Shake Menu, so just give your iPhone a shake and tap the Web button.

NOTE: Link Launching requires that you run our HippoVNC server on your Mac or PC.

Hippo Basic Setup

We've pre-programmed the Browser Plugin to the Macro Bar, so just give the browser icon a tap. If there is no icon, assign the [WEB] macro to an open slot in the Macro Bar.
